Newcomer Women's Health Clinic - Vancouver
Immigrant and Refugee Services, Pregnancy Care, Public Health, and Sexual Health
Provided by BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre (BCWH)
Provide health services to women who are recent immigrants or newcomers to Canada and do not yet have a regular healthcare provider.
General health services are open to newcomer women including; cervical cancer screening (PAP test), breast exam, testing for sexually transmitted infections, pregnancy test, and family planning. Women can come
to the clinic as many times as they need for up to 2 years.
Maternity care for refugee women, and new immigrant women who do not have medical insurance or a family doctor and have financial difficulty. Services are delivered by a nurse practitioner and medical residents. Women come to the clinic during pregnancy and up to 6 weeks after their baby is born.
Interpreter services are available for clinic visits, free of charge. For more information, or to apply please call the clinic.
