Support Groups and Individual Support for Caregivers

Provided by Cowichan Family Caregivers Support Society

Provides free support services to those who are in a caregiving role for a loved one living in the Cowichan Valley.
The following services are offered:
  • One to One Support: Offers one to one support meetings in person, through video call or talking on the phone. Caregiver leads help caregivers by providing emotional support, help navigating the healthcare system, additional community resources, and advocacy support.
  • Support Groups: Offers a chance for people to connect and share their experiences, feelings, strategies and helpful resources, with people who share familiar challenges that come with being a caregiver. Often caregivers make meaningful social connections which extend beyond the group setting.
  • Information, Education & Community Resources: Connects caregivers to other community resources and provides support for navigating the health care system.
  • Circles of Support: The facilitated support group offers caregivers the opportunity to meet other caregivers and share their experiences, strategies, and helpful resources.
