The Castlegar Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) provides team-based care for urgent, non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries that need attention within 12-24 hours. Depending on the nature of your injury or illness, you may be seen by a physician, a registered nurse, a physiotherapist, or a social worker.
The Castlegar and Area UPCC is primarily accessed through the Castlegar Emergency Department, and patients will receive care in either the ED or the UPCC, depending on urgency and need.
Referrals for service are also accepted from a community provider, i.e. family doctor, nurse practitioner or other community services.
Short-term, episodic Social work and Physiotherapy services are available and can be accessed by self referral. Please call the Castlegar UPCC number: 250-304-1289.
