Food Hamper and Banks in the Chemainus Area

Provided by Chemainus Harvest House Society

Distributes food to those in need, serving residents from Saltair to Westholme and creating public awareness of the needs of the community.
Chemainus Harvest House Society has 4 distribution sites that serve residents from Saltair to Westholme. Registration is encouraged to help improve service, but pre-registration is not required to receive food. Individuals may access the food bank once per week at the location within their community or the one that best fits their schedule. Hampers may also be packed for a neighbour or friend in need.
  • Chemainus Food Bank:
    Chemainus United Church Basement 9814 Willow Street
    • Fridays 11.30 am - 1:30 pm Stop and shop
    • Tuesday 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm Stop and shop
    • Tuesday 5 pm - 8 pm Hamper Pick Ups (must be preordered)

  • Crofton Food Bank:
    Warmland Church 1534 Joan Avenue
    • Mondays 10:00 am - 11:30 am stop and shop

  • Thetis Island Food Bank: Forbes Hall
    • Thursdays at noon
    • For Thetis and remote Island residents only

  • Penelakut Island Food Bank: Youth Centre
    • Tuesdays 10:00 am - 12:30 pm stop and shop (time varies depending on ferry)

    • For Penelakut community members only

Please contact the Harvest House office for more information about hampers, to schedule an after-hours pickup, or to learn how to connect with the distribution sites on Thetis Island and Penelakut Island. Hamper pickups can be booked online using the hamper request form here or by contacting the office at 250-246-0338.
