Healthy Care Pregnancy Program
Addictions / Substance Use, Family / Parenting, Pregnancy Care, and Public Health
Provided by BC Association of Pregnancy Outreach Programs (BCAPOP)
The program is focused on women experiencing risks to their health and well-being (e.g. unstable housing, poverty), and involves meeting with the women throughout the pregnancy, walking along side her journey and supporting her access to basic needs, transitions, etc. The program involves:
- Talking with the women about their needs and pregnancy goals
- Offering a menu of services that the women can be connected to
- Going with the women to their appointments
- Forming a network of people to support the women during their journey
