Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) - Comox Valley

Provides same-day care for non-life-threatening conditions.
This clinic is currently located at the Comox Valley Nursing Centre at 615-10th Street, Courtenay.

The Comox Valley UPCC is for people who need non-emergency medical care within 12 - 24 hours, including ailments such as:
  • Cough and colds
  • Fever
  • Cuts, wounds or skin conditions, rashes
  • Chest, ear or bladder infections
  • Back pain
  • Sprains and strains
  • Headaches
  • Minor injuries
The clinic offers same-day appointments for in-person and virtual care, and the clinic is open evenings and weekends. Call to book an appointment: On weekdays from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and on weekends/stats from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Walk-in appointments are not available.

This clinic is not a replacement for routine care from a family physician, e.g., chronic disease management, prescription renewals, referrals, completion of medical forms, such as for Persons with Disability (PWD), or provision of doctors' notes. This clinic does not provide second opinions for ongoing issues.

Services not provided:
  • X-ray, ultrasound, medical imaging, or CT scanning or laboratory services
  • Intravenous therapy
  • Narcotics (opioids)
  • Prescriptions for narcotics or tranquilizers (benzodiazepines).
