Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) - Comox Valley

Provides same-day care for non-life-threatening conditions.
Clinic is currently operating out of the Comox Valley Nursing Centre at 615-10th Street in Courtenay.

The Comox Valley UPCC is for people who need non-emergency medical care within 12 - 24 hours, including ailments such as:
  • Cough and colds
  • Fever
  • Cuts, wounds or skin conditions, rashes
  • Chest, ear or bladder infections
  • Back pain
  • Sprains and strains
  • Headaches
  • Minor injuries

The Comox Valley UPCC offers same-day appointments for in-person and virtual care, and the clinic is open evenings and weekends. Walk-in appointments are not available, so please call to book an appointment: Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, and Saturday through Sunday and statutory holidays from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

The UPCC is not a replacement for routine care from a family physician such as chronic disease management, prescription renewals, referrals, completion of medical forms, such as for Persons with Disability (PWD), or provision of doctors' notes. This clinic does not provide second opinions for ongoing issues. If you are unsure of the type of care you require, call 8-1-1 to speak with a nurse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Services not provided:
  • X-ray, ultrasound, medical imaging, or CT scanning or laboratory services
  • Intravenous therapy
  • Narcotics (opioids)
  • Prescriptions for narcotics or tranquilizers (benzodiazepines).
