Healthy Families Program - Ts’ewulhtun Health Centre

Various health services provided to indigenous persons who belong to the Cowichan Tribes.
The Hwialusmutul' Community Health Team helps individuals and the community set healthy goals and provide support to achieve these targets. RNs, Outreach workers, Aboriginal Infant Development professionals, maternal child and health professionals, speech and language pathologists, and project advisors work to offer the following services to Cowichan Tribe members:
  • Infant and Child Health and Development: Provides immunizations, vision screening, speech and language support, and nutrition support.
  • Maternal Wellness and Women's Health: Provides clinical services including pregnancy tests, PAP screening, pre-and post-natal support, breastfeeding support, and pre-term birth study.
  • Community Programs: Includes water monitoring, liaison with doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers, harm reduction and overdose prevention (Naloxone), outreach and support via text/call to vulnerable and under-housed populations, and a family cooking program.
  • Youth and Adult Wellness Programs: Provides communicable disease control, testing for STI, HIV, Hepatitis, TB, and immunizations for flu and COVID-19.

Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, closed daily for lunch from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.
