Dementia and Caregiver Support Services
Caregiver Support, Condition Specific Support, Services for Seniors, and Social / Recreational
Provided by BC Dementia Care Society
Provides social, recreational, artistic and educational programs, services, resources and support for individuals and families dealing with dementia.
Current programs and services include:
- Memory Cafe Cowichan: The Memory Café is designed to allow you and your loved one to participate in creative activities together while socializing with others. The café offers a caring and welcoming community for both people with dementia and their caregivers. Local guest artists, musicians, and other creatives will join us as we build a community of people living with dementia and their care partners. Coffee, tea and treats are provided. Registration is thru the CVRD (Cowichan Valley Regional District) and takes place at the Kerry Park Recreation Centre. There is a fee of $9 (includes two people for the entire program duration).
- We CARE connection: A support group for dementia caregivers. This group meets at the Kerry Park Recreation Cfentre.
Programs and services are offered throughout the Cowichan Valley, BC, and virtually across British Columbia.
