The complimentary Baby Be Healthy program provides support and free prenatal vitamins, which include folic acid and other key nutrients to support a healthy pregnancy. Prenatal services include:
- Free resources on healthy foods, mental health supports, and physical activity during pregnancy.
- Free prenatal vitamins during your pregnancy through our Baby Be Healthy program.
- Advice on which herbal supplements and over-the-counter medications are safe to take in pregnancy.
- Prescribing services (where appropriate) to treat nausea and other minor ailments during pregnancy (this service is not available in all provinces, due to different prescribing rules).
- Co-ordination with your healthcare provider, to make sure any medication prescribed is appropriate for use in pregnancy.
- Resources to help with depression during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.
- Ongoing support.
