Early Psychosis Intervention Program (Port Alberni Mental Health and Substance Use, ICMS team, Intensive Case Management Services) - For adults experiencing a first psychotic episode - Port Alberni

Provides early identification and treatment for first episode of psychosis. For residents of the Port Alberni area aged 19+.
Provides early intervention and treatment for psychotic disorders including:
  • Psychosis NOS
  • First Break
  • Schizophrenia
  • Schizoaffective

For adults aged 19 and above living in the Port Alberni area.

Basic early psychosis services provided include:
  • complete assessment of symptoms and physical functioning
  • medication management
  • case manager
  • family support and education
  • client education
  • treatment of problems in living and other mental health issues

Anyone can refer, including self-referral, but should go through the intake services first at the Roger Street office to determine whether or not they have a mental illness.

Mental Health & Substance Use (MHSU) Navigation Link for Clients/Patients: This service link central access phone number will provide help for clients navigating Island Health services for substance use, harm reduction and mental health. People seeking these services can call 1-888-885-8824 to speak directly with a Service Link provider. (This is not a line for health professionals to initiate a referral).
