Access/Crisis Services Nanaimo
Addictions / Substance Use, Mental Health - Adult & Senior, and Mental Health - Child & Youth
Provided by Island Health
Provides a point of entry for all Mental Health and Substance Use Services for all age groups in the Nanaimo area, as well as emergency crisis response 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Services are available to any person who has a major mental illness, an addiction or is in acute emotional distress. Members of the public, community agencies or physicians can access services in person, by phone, or by fax. Services are free of charge.
Services Provided:
- Mobile community crisis response team
- Crisis counselling walk-in during office hours (no appointment necessary)
- Withdrawal management support
- Connects to appropriate Mental Health and Substance Use services programs, hospital, and/or community treatment and recovery services for all age groups
