Stopping the Violence Counselling Program - For Victims of Abuse
Abuse / Neglect, Mental Health - Adult, and Victim Services
Provided by Cowichan Women Against Violence Society
Provides free, confidential counselling for women who have been sexually assaulted, are adult survivors of childhood abuse, or are currently experiencing or are at risk of abuse or violence in an intimate partner relationship
STV offers longer term counselling to help women 19+ who have experienced trauma explore and understand how they respond to abuse/violence, helping them regain a sense of safety and control in their lives. CWAV Society's Stopping the Violence (STV) counselling is free and confidential.
A referral from the Community-Based Victim Services (CBVS) program is required, but self-referrals to CBVS are accepted. The CBVS counsellor will assist with filling out a STV referral. To book an appointment, call the office to talk to a counsellor or leave a message.
