Programs for Children and Youth - Abuse

Provided by Cowichan Women Against Violence

Support for children and youth who have witnessed abuse or who have become victims of abuse themselves.
The following programs are offered:
  • PEACE Child & Youth Counselling: Providing one-on-one as well as group confidential counselling services free of charge for Children & Youth ages 4-18 who experience troubles at home and trauma.
  • Strengthening Families Group: for children aged 4-16 and their parents who have witnessed or experienced violence. It focuses on exploring feelings and developing skills, such as healthy communication, conflict resolution, and parenting through crisis.
  • Teen Healthy Relationships: A school-based program for youth that focuses on violence prevention and the place that gender and cultural inequality play in violence.
