Note: These specialized interventions are for children and youth whose chronic and often acute mental health needs have exceeded the capacity of community resources. This includes Ministry of Children and Family Development, Child & Youth Mental Health Services.
How to Access:
A physician or mental health clinician must complete the two-page form (please print) and fax to 250-519-6789 (providers please see further information at bottom of page). Once a referral is received, a decision is made to either accept the child/youth for the appropriate waitlist, or to decline the referral and make alternative recommendations for other resources or services.Services that accept referrals from anyone in the community (including family members and the child/youth themselves):
- Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) programs in Victoria, Port Alberni, Nanaimo, Courtenay and Comox
- Integrated Mobile Crisis Response Team (IMCRT)
- Discovery Youth & Family Substance Use Services
- Youth Tier 5 – Mobile Intensive Case Management Team
